Job Description

Teacher Assistants at Chatham Christian Academy (CCA)  will help the Teachers to plan, organize and present instruction and create instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational, social, and spiritual development. They will report to the CCA headmaster. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Seek to role model in attitude, speech, and action a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ

  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. 

  • Collaborate in developing a program of continuous progress consistent with CCA’s  mission, goals, and objectives to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students

  • Create a classroom environment that is safe, conducive to learning, and encourages students to take risks in their learning

  • Employ instructional methods and materials that appropriately guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals

  • Assess student learning, through observations, authentic performance, and more formal methods, in an ongoing manner, providing frequent student feedback, information to parents, and written progress reports

  • Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress

  • Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school constituency and the general public

  • Participate in professional development programs as by the Headmaster

  • Willingly perform other related duties as required/assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in schools

  • Verification of church attendance and service

  • Possess a philosophy of Christian Education

  • Accepts, without verbal or mental reservations, the Chatham Christian Academy statement of faith (signed before hired)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Masterful knowledge of curriculum and best practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Considerable human relations and human development skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Good technical skills with technology and presentation tools

  • Ability to use common office machines and popular computer-driven word processing, spreadsheet, and file maintenance programs

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Full-time for ten (10) months
